House Hunting

July 27th, 2009

My husband and I are currently saving up to buy ourselves a home. We have piggy banks and jars full of coins and bills. We both agree that every penny counts. Fortunately for us, we have saved enough money to obtain a larger mortgage this year. We can finally purchase our dream house!

Yesterday, we went on open houses and viewed several houses. My husband and I fell in love with one particular house. It was a beautiful colonial type house but with a contemporary interior design. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a large family area and a kitchen, ornate with fabulous glass tile backsplash, which opens to a circular dining room. The house has a huge backyard with a stone patio. The garage can house two cars and a couple of motorbikes or bicycles. It is perfect for me and my husband as well as for the future kids we will be having.

After we got home, we talked about the house. We have to make a decision immediately as to purchase it or not. A few other people are interested in the house too. If we dawdle with our verdict, we might be beaten to it.

Reheat One Whole Pizza with Your Cusinart Convection Toaster Oven

July 27th, 2009

Heating pizza has always been a problem in our home. We have this toaster oven which was so small that we can only heat a maximum of 2 slices of pizza each time. This is why we really had to wait despite being very hungry just to get a hold of our reheated pizza. After a few months of this routine, me and my siblings really got irritated with this. Wee convinced out dad to buy a new toaster oven instead. Good thing he was updates in these kinds of things that he picked out a Cusinart convection toaster oven for us. Now, we can now reheat one whole pizza in out toaster oven. Not only this amazed us, but it really made reheating a lot easier to do. We can all enjoy our own pizza slices without waiting in line on who got to reheat first. This is what I am talking about!

Cusinart Convection Toaster Ovens

Toaster ovens are small electric kitchen appliances intended for heating and cooking food as well as for toasting bread. Newer models can also be used for defrosting and broiling certain food. And with the convection types, this could be done in a matter of minutes. This is because their fans circulate heated air within the oven thus evenly distributing heat, and eliminating the layer of air insulating the food.

Pizza and all types of pasta can be heated or reheated in toaster ovens. So can croissants, bagels, and French bread. Simple food preparations can be cooked in them, such as eggs and hotdogs. In contrast to microwaves, toasters are more suited for dry cooking. You can use them to bake, convection bake, or broil your food.

One advantage of toaster ovens over their full-sized brethren is that they are more energy-efficient, using only 25% of the latter’s energy consumption. However, if you plan on using it more often, you may need to get a new cook book for recipes well-suited to toaster ovens.

Among the more popular brands of this kind of ovens are the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Ovens. Cuisinart has at least two models of these, the TOB-195 and TOB-60. Both of these have a .60 cubic foot capacity.
